A few months after their exhibition in Paris at the Centre Pompidou, the four artists honoured by the 2016 Marcel Duchamp Prize will be having a group show in Brussels hosted by the Centre d’Art Hangar H18 and its Artistic Director Sophie Hasaerts.
The exhibition A look at the French scene is orchestrated by Alicia Knock who was the curator of the exhibition of the 16th edition of the prize in the Musée national d’art moderne. Thirty or so works – drawings, collages, photos, videos and installations – have been chosen for this new art centre located in the heart of the Brussels art gallery and museum district.
Press conference and preview on the 19th of April, the day before the opening of the Brussels Art Fair.
The exhibition benefits from the noteworthy support of Artcurial, a faithful sponsor of the ADIAF as well as the CBC bank.
This is part of the EXTRA program set up by the Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle of the French Embassy in Belgium with the support of the Institut français and the Alliance Française for Brussels-Europe in the aim of highlighting the various facets of French contemporary creation in the field of the visual arts, live shows and performance art.
14 Belgian institutions are featured in the EXTRA 2017 Program (2nd edition) with thirty or so established and emerging artists in the cities of Brussels, Ghent, Charleroi, Louvain-la Neuve and Bruges.
